2016 STATE OF THE BUSINESS LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS
More than 350 people attended this year’s inaugural CCBA State of the Business luncheon. At the event, CCBA Chairman and Capital One Financial Services President Sanjiv Yajnik hosted a conversation with Gov. Greg Abbott, discussing the State of the Business in Texas and the inspiration behind his new book, “Broken But Unbowed.” During the conversation, Governor Abbott described Collin County as a vibrant community and an “example to Texas and the United States of America.”
Following Gov. Abbott’s remarks, Tracy Merzi, publisher of the Dallas Business Journal, moderate a panel discussion where state and local elected officials shared their perspectives on a number of countywide issues. Panelists included Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere, Rep. Jodie Laubenberg, District 89, Rep. Jeff Leach, District 67, McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller, Frisco Mayor Maher Maso, County Judge Keith Self and Sen. Van Taylor, Collin County.
